Zarko Homes is a custom residential building company led by brothers Chris and Paul Helsby; two experienced carpenters and licensed builders who have dedicated their careers to their passion for building.
With nearly 50 years of combined experience between them, their approach is still defined by the disciplined and deeply considered training they received at the very start; where attention to detail and quality workmanship weren’t optional.
Today, Zarko Homes is known for its integrity, quality, and exceptional outcomes. The business is built on a simple philosophy: deliver what is promised. Whether it’s a high-end architectural build or a more modest home, Chris and Paul bring the same level of care, commitment, and precision to every project; because for them, both the outcome and the process matter.

Paul Helsby
Founder
After completing his carpentry apprenticeship, Paul spent over 20 years working on some of Brisbane’s finest architecturally designed homes. This gave him a deep understanding of the craftsmanship and technical skill needed to bring complex designs to life.
He later launched his own business, building new homes and delivering high-quality renovations & extensions across Brisbane, before teaming up with Chris to establish Zarko Homes.
Known for his fine eye for detail, Paul ensures that every part of your home, from structure to finishing touches, meets the highest standards of quality and care.
Chris Helsby
Founder
After completing his carpentry apprenticeship on architecturally designed homes across Brisbane, Chris went on to build a successful carpentry business specialising in custom new homes. Over time, he grew the company to a team of ten, delivering high-quality projects across the city.
He later gained his builder’s licence and worked in senior roles, gaining valuable experience across all stages of residential construction.
With a strong foundation in both hands-on building and project leadership, Chris brings deep technical knowledge and a practical, solutions-focused approach to every home.
